I don't really care how it is done as long as it looks decent.  As an
example, I think

\title{\scalebox{3}{\MP}\\A User's Manual}

needs some tweaking to the spacing (3 being an arbitrary scale factor).
 And then why not use titlepage in the first place?  Other than that, I
had nothing in mind.

PS:  Without changing the title we could use

      A User's Manual for
           METAPOST

as well.
