   verbatimtex   %&latex   etex

has three leading and three following spaces surrounding the "%&latex".

Hartmut has just created a patch that explicitly recognises that the
content starts with a '%' in this case and does not print the trailing
spaces, so this problem is solved in the mean time.

I will commit the patch in a minute.
