[OS X TeX] cocoAspell

I find the cocoAspell dictionaries somewhat frustrating: typically I get too many suggestions for the misspelled word and often times the correct word is missing. For example, for  the word "repuslion" I get  9 suggestions but "repulsion" is not one of them. I wonder whether there is some smart way to set up the dictionaries. In the cocoAspell preference pane I have selected "English" and "Fast" (under suggestion mode).

Any suggestions?
