Then you can load paralist with the neveradjust option and
additionally put before your compact enumerations
\setdefaultleftmargin{0em}{0em}{0em}{0em}{0em}{0em}
(the first value is for first level items, the second one for sub-
items in \item, etc.). The default for all the indentations at
increasing level could be:
\setdefaultleftmargin{2.5em}{2.2em}{1.87em}{1.7em}{1em}{1em}
