[OS X TeX] -shell-escape

All,

I am trying to get Aquamacs to compile using pdflatex --shell-escape.  
I tried this:


%%% Local Variables:
%%% mode: latex
%%% LaTeX-command: "pdflatex -shell-escape"
%%% TeX-master: "chapter1"
%%% End:

Doesn't work. Am I doing something wrong?

Also tried this:

%%% Local Variables:

%%% LaTeX-command: "pdflatex --shell-escape"
%%% TeX-master: "chapter1"
%%% End:

Didn't work.

Any suggestions?
