[OS X TeX] Safari, TeXShop, TeXLive

Not a diagnosis, but a strategy: you might try using the nice Schubert|it PDF
Browser Plugin, free for education users. It also makes it quicker and
easier to then open a displayed PDF in a viewer like Skim or Preview.
