[OS X TeX] \vref-link killed by latex2html

Hi,

not a typical os x tex question, but hopefully somebody knows.

when I use the package "html" for latex2html all hyperlinks created  
with \vref from the varioref-package are gone. The text is still  
there, but not clickable any more.

Working with TL 2008 on a Mac and latex2html-2008.

Any thoughts on how this coud be resolved?
