[OS X TeX] (pdf) TeX Quote characters

What font does one use for foot and inch symbols, in (pdf) TeX. The 
double quote (" for inch) looks fine, if one uses "phvbo8t at 10pt"  
(helvetica bold) but what's a good choice for the foot symbol?
