1. EPS figures were no longer displayed by the windvi after I upgraded
gs7.00, gv4.00 to gs8.00
and gv4.3 respectively. My windvi version is 0.67.2, and gsftopk is 1.19.2.
They are from fptex
installed on a PC under winXP Pro.
2. Following an advise on comp.text.tex (assuming that more choice is better
than less) I did
the following:
set GS_LIB=c:\gs\gs8.00\lib;c:\gs\gs8.00\bin;c:\gs\fonts
set GS_DLL=c:\gs\gs8.00\bin;c:\gs\gs8.00\lib
and added c:\gs\gs8.00\bin;c:\gs\gs8.00\lib to the PATH
and began to get a long message in the log file after clicking on PS to
trigger the PS-viewing,
but not the eps-figures. The message is in the very bottom of this email
posting. Without
attempts to trigger the PS, the log is empty and so are the eps-figures.
Adding
set GS_OPTIONS=-dNOSAFER
reduced the log response on every triggering the PS-viewing to only two
lines:
Callback: PAGE 01550088
Callback: PAGE 01550088
but did not solve the problem with displaying eps figures.
3. Return back to gs7.00 and gsView4.00 plus setting (minimal possible this
time):
set GS_LIB=c:\gs\gs7.00\lib;c:\gs\fonts
and added c:\gs\gs7.00\bin to the PATH
reinstated everything back to normal.
4. Whether this is possible at all to see EPS-figures in windvi with gs8.00
and gv4.3? And how,
if the answer to the first question is yes.
With many thanks in advance,
Vladimir
