[Fontinst] How to install math fonts

Having seen Marjan's sample in the meantime, I'm clueless.  
The faked glyph \v{C} is too high to fit between the lines 
with a normal baselineskip.

I don't understand why this happens just with Adobe Garamond, 
and I have no idea how to fix fontinst to avoid an unpleasant 
situation like this.

I have abandoned any hope that we can ever install fonts for
use with TeX _without_ expert manual interaction.
