Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinates and manages all aspects of technical report production for multiple government agencies
• Manages and uses production equipment/tools (desktop publishing and illustration tools)
• Works extended hours producing reports and supporting meetings (up to 80 hours per week) during busy periods
• Develops, publishes, stores and distributes classified reports
• Produces technical reports in a compartmented security access environment
• Packs and deploys office to California twice a year
• Operates at deployed site in La Jolla for three month and one month periods.
• Develops graphic products for office and meeting support
• Manage customer requests and transportation during meetings
• Plans and coordinates special events, including conferences, symposia; develops collateral material for special events
• Produces program agendas, sets up meeting rooms
• Manages check-in and badging at receptions
• Manages and acquires publication hardware and software
• Handles FOIA requests from sponsors
• Maintains liaison with government customers
• Produces communication products; may include writing, editing and developing graphics (including web)
• Thrives in fast paced, high stress environment driven by demanding customers

Required Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, plus 5 years of experience or the equivalent in job-relevant work experience.

Desired Education/Experience: BS in scientific discipline or related IT field plus 3 years experience. Experience in desktop publishing of technical reports.

Required Skills:

• High proficiency in word processing or typesetting software in a high production environment
• Work in high stress, high visibility deployed environment
• Attention to detail and solid planning skills
• Able to work overtime when required

Desired Skills: Working knowledge of LaTeX word processing, strong in Microsoft Office suite.

Security Clearance: SCI preferred (would consider someone who is clearance eligible). Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance. For this position, MITRE will consider only applicants with security clearances or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.

Travel: This position is located primarily in McLean, VA; however the position is required to support the JASON Summer/Winter Studies in La Jolla, CA, every year from June–August (approximately 12 weeks) and the end of December to the end of January (approximately 4 weeks). Appropriate expenses for transportation, housing and per diem are covered during the La Jolla studies.
