melissa has provided a number of definitions from bringhurst for
different styles of numerals.  (thanks, melissa!)

unfortunately, i don't see anything in these definitions that addresses
the width of these different styles of numerals, namely, are they all
the same width (suitable for tabular work) or does each have its own
distinct width (where "1" is narrower than the others; such a style
is suitable for, e.g., dates in text).  that's an orthogonal axis in
which i'd been used to seeing some of these terms with slightly
different meanings, but i can't find any authority for those meanings.\

melissa, do you know of any reference which includes the tabular/non
tabular aspect for numeral definitions?
